2026 Sue Zelickson & Women Who Really Cook Scholarship Application

The Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation, in partnership with the Women Who Really Cook are offering scholarships of up to $4,000 to Minnesota women pursuing their education in culinary, hospitality, foodservice, food science, food systems and other food-related fields. Students must be currently enrolled or accepted into a post-secondary food-related program for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Please submit this application including your letters of recommendation, school transcript, essay, and photo by Friday, March 21, 2026. Visit https://www.hospitalityminnesota.com/scholarships/ for more information.

If awarded a scholarship your email address will be retained by the Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation and provided to the scholarship donor. Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation will use your photo on our website and in our scholarship promotions.

Applicant acknowledges that he/she will be enrolled for two consecutive school terms with a minimum of 9 credits/term during 2025-2026 school year.

Scholarship Applicant Essay

Describe a time when you supported another woman’s professional development or when a woman supported you in your professional development.

Suggested points to include in your essay are:

  • Personal statement about your background and career aspirations.
  • Description of a significant challenge you've overcome.
  • Your connection, if any, to the Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation and/or Women Who Really Cook
  • How you embody the essence of hospitality.
  • Impact you hope to make in your community or within the hospitality industry.

Essay should not exceed 500 words.
