Restaurant Equipment Sales Tax Repeal Hearing
On Tuesday, the House Taxes committee heard HF893, which is being led by Representative Dave Baker. HF893 would exempt restaurant equipment from sales taxes, much like other manufacturing equipment. Hospitality Minnesota member Erik Forsberg testified in support of the bill. We submitted a letter of support, as did the Chamber of Commerce, linked below. Please note the updated language for HF893 more clearly defines food service equipment and will go into effect, if passed, July 1, 2023.
